Etching
Etching is the application of compressed air mixed with sand delivered to the surface of glass to create artwork, images & textures.; This technique creates a range of matte & multi-dimensional layered effects.
Carving
The concentration of abrasive “sand” in one area of the glass for an extended period of time erodes the glass thus giving depth to the image. Carved glass has a three dimensional look & captures light beautifully.
Multi-Stage Carving
Creating art work with multiple overlapping shapes & images allows the artist to carve one overlap at a time giving tremendous depth & dramatic 3-D effects.
Frosting & Shading
Appling a gradient to an image can add the illusion of shadow. Using varying range of light & dark contours an image & gives it realism. This is sometimes referred to as ‘Airbrush Effect”.
